Our Story
Established in 2000 as a not-for-profit utility corporation, Griffiss Utility Services Corporation (GUSC) provides reliable and economical energy solutions to park tenants. GUSC is a self-sustaining corporation and receives no local, state or federal tax dollars to operate its facilities.
GUSC provides electricity and steam heat to the park tenants through its facilities that were vacated in 1995 by the US Air Force and conveyed to the Oneida County Industrial Development Agency in 2001 and 2005, respectively.
On average, the annual rates offered by GUSC to park tenants reflect a significant discount compared to the rates tenants would pay outside the park in comparable rate classes. GUSC is committed to maintaining this advantage and continue supporting Oneida County and Griffiss Local Development Corporation’s (GLDC) efforts to stimulate economic growth at Griffiss Business and Technology Park.
GUSC is responsible for all maintenance and capital improvements to the electric and steam heat utility distribution systems of the park and responds to any interruptions in service with utility crews that are on-call 24/7.
Like other utilities in New York State, GUSC is regulated by the New York State Public Service Commission for safety, reliability, and system efficiency.
